Love Oliver Day 2017

This was one of my favorite PDLP episodes I've shot in a while!
Doing good with what you've been given is one of the most important things you can do in your time on this Earth. Working with outstanding people from great ministries like The Church at Brook Hills, Serving You Ministries, and WorkFaith Birmingham, means the impact we can have on our community is exponentially greater! - Drew

Christmas for 100 Kids: The McSweeney Foundation teams up with Church of the Highlands and Target of Trussville to give Christmas to dozens of familes. - December 7, 2016

Trussville, Alabama - Employees from SCA Performance and McSweeney Designs caravanned to the Super Target in Trussville this afternoon to support The McSweeney Foundation and shop for Christmas gifts for 100 kids in the greater Birmingham, AL area.

“We like for our contributors to see how their gifts are making a difference,” said Deidre Leo, The McSweeney Foundation’s administrator.  “What better way to do that than let them shop with the money they’ve given to provide Christmas for nearly a hundred kids in our community.”

The shopping destination was Target of Trussville.  Upon arrival, SCA and McSweeney Designs employees crowded the store’s entrance, grabbed shopping carts, and were off to the races – filling their carts with gifts both large and small for boys and girls ranging in age from less than one year to twelve years.

The event was such a sight to behold that it garnered the attention of many of the store’s patrons.  After learning the details of the endeavor, one woman even insisted that she be able to help; and she purchased a bicycle to donate on the spot.  “What y’all are doing is a good thing,” She said.  “I just have to get in on it.”

Through Target’s bountiful generosity, The McSweeney Foundation was able to significantly increase the number of children it will provide Christmas for this season.  For that, Target deserves many thanks.

All gifts purchased will be given to support Church of the Highland’s “Giving Hope” ministry.  “The operation [Church of the Highlands] runs is so well-organized, we decided to partner with them instead of doing our own thing,” said Matt McSweeney, one of The McSweeney Foundation Chairmen.  “Doing so will allow us to reach as many families as we can with the joy of Christmas.”

The 3rd Annual McSweeney Foundation Bass Fishing Tournament - September 24, 2016

The McSweeney Foundation Bass Fishing Tournament is our largest fundraiser of the year.  Over 120 fishing teams join us each year for a day of competitive fishing in support of our cause.  In addition, we partner with vendors of SCA Performance and McSweeney Designs who sponsor the tournament and help us meet our fundraising goals.

For The 3rd Annual McSweeney Foundation Bass Fishing Tournament, we were honored to have 2014 Bassmaster Classic Champion, Randy Howell, serve as Co-MC, alongside McSweeney Foundation Chairman, Matthew McSweeney.  It took just under 16.5 lbs for Vern Moody and Chris Dill to secure first place, and we raised over $22,000 for The McSweeney Foundation!

Oliver Elementary Back-To-School Kick-Off Party - July 30, 2016

Many memories were made on this beautiful July day, as team members from SCA Performance and McSweeney Designs gathered to represent The McSweeney Foundation at the Oliver Elementary Back-To-School Kick-Off Party!  We grilled out, had face painting, games, inflatables - it was a day of celebration and a powerful surge towards the beginning of the new school year.

In addition to the festivities, The McSweeney Foundation allocated a portion of the financial support it received to outfit the Oliver Elementary students with new shoes and school supplies and classrooms with new tablets to promote the school's learning initiatives through better technology infrastructure.

TEAM Ministry Food Drive - August 2, 2015

During the Summer of 2015, The McSweeney Foundation partnered with TEAM Ministry, a food bank in Birmingham, AL.  A bit of friendly competition was instigated between team members from SCA Performance and McSweeney Designs to see who could donate the most full bags of non-perishable food items.  Heading into the final day of the drive, teams were fairly even in the amount of bags they had donated.  But then, in a surprise that shocked us all, McSweeney Designs, AKA "The A-Team", rushed to the Food Drive Finish Line with landslide victory of 57 bags of food! We were able to provide months worth of food to TEAM Ministry through an event that we will never forget.
